My plant children

Today  I was given sole responsibility for my crops in the greenhouse.  Peter, our teacher, said we should treat them like our children.  I have three crops so far:

  • “Freedom Fireworks” Poinsettias
  • “Yellow Remix” Chrysanthemums
  • “Dark Cherie” Chrysanthemums

I found and labeled all of my plants.  To monitor for insects I put  sticky yellow card on a stick in my pots.  If it catches my fingers I’m sure its going to snag some bugs.  At the end of the week we will evaluate if the pest population is too large.

I keep forgetting to take my camera and take pictures of my plants and of the greenhouses.  Tomorrow I will try to take pictures, both for documentation and for illustration.

Coming soon:  Get to know “Freedom Firework”
